Darkinjung Country
This addition by True North Architects to a water-front home at Green Point on the Central Coast creates a beautiful new living space that hangs off a large rammed earth blade wall & employs several passive solar design techniques to maintain comfort levels throughout the year. The earth-wall runs east-west along the southern boundary & welcomes winter sun in through a clerestory roof-light that follows the length of the wall. The thermal mass of the wall acts to regulate conditions in the space. A high roof over the deck to the north of the new wing provides summer weather protection without precluding winter sun-penetration deep into the living spaces. The recycled post & beam structure forms a loggia that frames the view to the water from the entry point & draws guests through the house.
Client Testimonial:
We undertook a major renovation with Angus of True North as our Architect and the outcome was truly inspiring. I would highly recommend True North Architects to any home builder, renovator or developer.
